Oaks Christian School announces the hiring of Garrick Moss as the new middle school athletic director Head of Athletics Brad Cook announced June 21.
"I am thankful to the Lord for His incredible grace in my life,” said Moss. “I would like to thank Head of School Rob Black, Chief Operating Officer Mike Parkinson and Head of Athletics Brad Cook for giving me the opportunity to serve as athletic director for Oaks Christian Middle School. I look forward to working with our MS coaches, staff, and families as we train our middle school student-athletes to honor the Lord as they pursue athletic distinction."
Prior to coming to Oaks Christian, Moss spent five years as the associate head of school in charge of activities, spiritual life and athletics at Legacy Christian Academy in Valencia, Calif. While at Legacy Christian, Moss was in charge of the hiring and training of coaches, along with the supervision, observation and evaluation of said coaches, as well as the coordination of practices, games and locations for all sports.
“The Oaks Christian athletic department is excited to have Garrick Moss join our staff,” Cook said. “Garrick has a heart for leading student-athletes in a Christlike manner and understands the role athletics can have towards shaping our student-athletes here. Garrick embraces the mission of Oaks Christian School, and we are blessed to have him on our campus.”
Prior to Legacy Christian, Moss worked at Santa Clarita Christian in many roles from 1997-2017, including the athletic director, head coaches for both the football and baseball teams and teaching PE at both the elementary and middle school levels.
