This course is designed to introduce incoming students to the skills and strategies necessary for their success in the English program at Oaks Christian. Students engage in a comprehensive exploration of grammar basics. The class is also open to students who need to review grammatical concepts.  This course is limited to new and current Oaks Christian students.  Course is not for credit; enrichment only. 

July 26 - August 9, 12:30pm-3:00pm 

This course is designed to help students build a strong foundation in algebra in order to be successful in their future math courses at Oaks Christian. The class is designed to help those students who will be taking algebra 1 or geometry in the fall.  Course is not for credit; enrichment only. Incoming 9th-10th grade.

July 10 - July 14, 8:30am-1:00pm

Oaks Christian mock trial camp is part of the Global Leadership Institute where students learn leadership skills, preparing them for future leadership.

Mock trial camp offers students a dynamic environment consisting of interactive learning, legal advocacy drills, along with the opportunity to perform both as attorneys and witnesses. All participants will construct opening statements, conduct direct and cross examinations and conduct closing arguments.

Our mock trial camp is designed to take students step-by-step through the process of mock trials. Students learn the legal process, delivery skills, critical thinking, argument construction, and cross-examinations.

By the end of the week, students will not only be introduced to American jurisprudence, but they will also have completed two or more trials, one of which will be in front of parents and other guests.

July 17 -July 21. 8:30am-1:00pm

Oaks Christian entrepreneurship summer camp is part of the Global
Leadership Institute where students learn leadership, preparing them for future leadership.

Students will learn what goes into launching their own business from the ground up. They will be taught how to identify their target audience, create a story for their product, develop a marketing plan, write a business pitch, break down startup costs, and practice leadership behaviors that can inspire a team.

At the end of the week, students will pitch their businesses to a group of investors and receive priceless feedback from real world entrepreneurs.

July 24 -July 28, 8:30am-1:00pm

This one-week summer camp will teach students practical techniques in construction of strategic, compelling arguments, speech preparation, research, refutation, persuasion, critical thinking and listening, all while learning to speak with clarity and conviction.

The students will develop skills to effectively brainstorm a topic, build audience interest and attention, organize the speech, effective use of humor, and delivery strategies.

Through many practice rounds, the camp will focus on the techniques and skills necessary to turn the novice speaker into a confident speaker, and the already experienced speaker into a higher-level speaker.

At the end of the week, the students will welcome friends and family to watch speeches, along with a debate, on campus to see the students use the speech and debate skills they learned in camp.
