Preparing Minds for Leadership and Hearts for Service
What is Malachi's Closet?
Malachi's Closet is Oaks Christian School's volunteer-run, used uniform program,
It is located on the third floor of The Gerwien Family Learning Center, Room #310.
Opens for the 2023-24 school year on Thursdays from 12:30pm to 3:30pm (with the exception of holidays and special testing days)
Why is it called Malachi's Closet?
Our program was named by OCS student Cayton Coburn to honor the memory of Malachi Smith, the three-year-old son of Wes and Rachel Smith, who passed away on October 29, 2009 of leukemia. Wes Smith is the OCS Head Athletic Trainer, and a coach. Malachi’s Closet supports the OCS Financial Aid Program. To date, over $70,000 has been raised through this program.
Lost & Found collection and sorting is the last week of each month.
Our Lost & Found volunteers make phone calls and write emails in hopes of returning all Lost & Found items to their original owner. After a period of time, all unclaimed items will be laundered and sent to Malachi's Closet for re-sale or donated to a rescue mission.
A volunteer-managed OCS email account has been established for parents to communicate with those in charge of the Lost & Found. For questions about missing items, please email malachiscloset@oakschristian.org.
Malachi's Closet welcomes donations of gently used OCS uniforms that students no longer need or have simply outgrown.
Please drop off any Malachi's Closet donations in the yellow bins on the high school campus (one is currently in the high school student lobby and the other is outside the entrance to Malachi's Closet at The Learning Center). Donations are also accepted at the high school and middle school reception desks.
