Is the IGL Right for You?

Leadership is, in one word, “influence.”

The OCS Institute of Global Leadership (IGL) allows students to learn how to positively influence and serve others. The skill of influence can be translated to a variety of fields, including business, law, non-profits, and public service. At the IGL, we believe that leaders are not born, they are made. As a result, the skill of leadership can be cultivated and learned.

The IGL allows students to engage with the best ideas from the most influential thinkers in the leadership field. This includes visionaries such as Dale Carnegie, Jim Collins, Peter Drucker, Patrick Lencioni, and John Maxwell. Students have the incredible opportunity to work with recognized world-class leaders from multiple industries. The connections made with top leaders in an individualized setting is a unique benefit of the IGL.

Part of leadership is understanding your own strengths and weaknesses. Students will understand themselves better by taking personality assessments such as Myers-Briggs, Enneagram, and DISC. These assessments are widely used in leadership circles and allow students to expand their own spheres of influence.

Additionally, an international perspective is essential in today’s increasingly globalized world. Cultural competency and awareness are necessities. The IGL equips students with knowledge of global religions, political systems, and cultural perspectives. Graduates of the IGL will be ethical, informed, and passionate leaders.
