While all Oaks Christian 9 -12 grade students can take a class or two online each semester, hybrid students are approved to take an average of 40-60% of their courses through OC Online during their years at Oaks Christian School. OC Online teachers work remotely but meet with students in weekly, virtual live sessions. OC Online administrators and staff support students along with physical campus administrators to promote student success.

Any high school student who has applied and been accepted to Oaks Christian School can be approved for Oaks Christian’s Hybrid Learning Program by the school’s academic team

Students join our Hybrid Learning Program for many reasons. Typically, the reason students take advantage of Hybrid Learning is because they are involved in some professional, athletic, or other time-restrictive activity outside of school. By taking more courses online, students have more control over their schedule, adjusting when and where their learning occurs each day.

Hybrid Learning courses are college-preparatory and approved by the same accreditation agencies and organizations as Oaks Christian School, including UC and NCAA, ensuring OC Online courses maintain the college prep rigor of Oaks Christian School courses. This also gives students the valuable experience of learning online which helps them prepare for their future in higher education and the modern workplace.

Yes, hybrid students are Oaks Christian students and can participate in any arts, athletics, academics, and activities. Additionally, hybrid students are required to participate in chapel, advisory, assemblies, and class meetings.

As a part of the program, students receive 25 hours per semester of tutoring in the Learning Center as a part of their tuition. This way students can get additional assistance at a time that is convenient for them. Additionally, hours beyond 25 per semester will be available at a discounted rate.

With the guidance of college counselors and the Academic Dean, students select the combination of on campus and online courses that best fits their goals and abilities. Most, if not all, graduation requirements are available through OC Online’s 120+ course offerings.

A student will need a computer with webcam, microphone, and a reliable internet connection. Working on mobile devices, tablets, and/or chromebooks will not provide students with an optimal learning experience.
