Edward Rouse has been teaching at Oaks Christian since 2008. In that time, he has grown the choir program in the middle school and high school from 2 to 6 choirs, involving over 100 students. Ed Rouse, a native of California, studied choral conducting at Biola University, where he received his Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Education. He then studied at the Eastman School of Music, gaining his Master’s Degree in Choral Conducting. Ed is active professionally as a chorister and soloist and has sung in different ensembles around the country. He currently is singing with Areté Vocal Ensemble. He is active as an adjudicator and choral technician in the Southern California area. Since 2012, Ed has been the artistic director of Los Robles Children’s Choir where he directs two choirs with students from over 30 different area schools. Ed is an active vocal coach and preparing students for auditions and shows and working with students both at Oaks Christian School and in the community.

Alicia Langness has been teaching at Oaks since 2021. She is a native of Minnesota and received her Bachelor’s Degree in K-12 Vocal Music Education from the University of Northwestern—St. Paul (MN). She spent the first eight years of her teaching career in Minnesota, where she taught K-12 music and choir, three of those years were also spent as the Vocal Director for the theatre program at the high school level. Her love of choral teaching has continued to grow as she conducted Middle School, High School, and Children’s choir for the past six years in California. Alicia has also been musically involved in the various churches she has attended, directing music for Vacation Bible School and various musicals and Christmas productions. She is currently involved in leading worship at Good Shepherd Church in Camarillo. Alicia enjoys sharing her love of music with students, helping them develop their voices and find a passion for music and performing.
