Over the past year, the Oaks Christian School Alumni Association has been planning and designing the first phase of the new OC Alumni Park, just north of the Price Academic Building. Personalized alumni tribute plaques will artistically line the back wall of this serene location which will commemorate all of our alumni as the foundation and legacy of the school. The park will be a beautiful space of fellowship for our entire OCS community to enjoy during the day.
All Oaks Christian School alumni will now be able to "lay the foundation" for the OC Alumni Park by designing a permanent alumni tribute plaque. We invite all our current alumni parents and grandparents to consider ordering a plaque to commemorate the time their OCS alumni child and/or grandchild.
NFL Player and OCS Alumnus Cassius Marsh '10 Hosted Summer Sports Camp
Oaks Christian School alumnus and NFL player Cassius Marsh ’10 held a one-day summer sports camp in June on Redell Field in Thorson Stadium for young athletes ages 7 to 13 from all over Southern California. The sports camp was open to OCS students as well as community youth. At the time, Marsh was playing for the Seattle Seahawks. He is now currently playing for the San Francisco 49ers.
Many of the athletes (and parents) came dressed in their Seattle Seahawk gear for Marsh to autograph. He spent time with all of the break-out groups and had plenty of help from Oaks Christian Lions football team members, who came out to run the drills and energize all of the campers. OCS legendary Coach Bill Redell stopped by to greet Marsh and the campers. Having Marsh back on the OCS campus was a real honor, and all of the football campers enjoyed the professional training.
After graduating from Oaks Christian in 2010, Marsh played at UCLA. He brought along a couple of his fellow UCLA players to help at the camp, including fellow OCS alumni Ishmael Adams ’12.
Who Doesn't Love a Free T-shirt?
We decided to create an official Oaks Christian School alumni t-shirt as a gift to our alumni when they drop by campus for a visit, to volunteer at an OCS event, or attend Homecoming or a class reunion. Over 400 alumni t-shirts have already been given out and we look forward to handing out more this year!
