Faculty and Staff

We are firmly committed to supporting our faculty and staff as they seek to educate and serve as role models for our students. They are known as "The Living Curriculum" because their wisdom, experience, and presence are the conduit through which knowledge and understanding are delivered, not textbooks, tests, or PowerPoint.

Over the past seven years, John Park has had the pleasure of sharing his passion for teaching with our wonderful students. He holds credentials in English and multiple subjects and a proud graduate of Pepperdine University. For the last six years, he has been immersed in the exciting world of tech education at Oaks Christian. It's been a rewarding journey exploring innovative ways to integrate technology into our curriculum and making learning an engaging experience. His journey began in Seoul, Korea, and Boston, and now, he is happily settled in sunny California with his lovely wife and their delightful dog, Max.

Dr. Don Robinson feels privileged to be a tech integration specialist at Oaks Christian School. His family is an OCS family through and through. His wife is the international enrollment manager, and his daughter Audrey is a fifth-grade Oaks student. He started his career as a credentialed teacher and quickly learned he was passionate about integrating technology in transformative ways. He earned several advanced degrees related to educational technology, and he became a tech integration specialist at an international school in Korea. He has been in his current role at Oaks Christian for the last seven years. When not working, he enjoys playing online chess and taking his dog Astro for long walks.

 Back in the House!

We welcome back alumni who have returned to their alma mater as faculty or staff. Their OCS experience uniquely positions them to relate to our current students through a shared history!
Jackson Kelly, Class of 2014

Jackson Kelly, Class of 2014, has too many memories to count about his time at Oaks Christian School, and the countless special times with friends and teachers. A graduate of Azusa Pacific University with a bachelors in English, he is now paying it forward as a high school English teacher at Oaks Christian.

Emily Sadler, Class of 2005

Emily Sadler, Class of 2005, works at the middle school as an English and French teacher. She reflects on fond memories when she was a student at Oaks Christian, including Wild and Crazy Kids Day, the senior retreat, and Mr. Summers. Being a student here was one of the best experiences of her life! She earned her bachelors from Seattle Pacific University, and her masters from Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey.

Mike McDowell, Class of 2006

Mike McDowell, Class of 2006, is a high school science teacher and a Global Leadership Institute teacher, as well. His favorite memory at Oaks Christian is being cornered and scolded by Commander Coyle for being out of dress code ("Can anyone else relate?" he asks). He graduated with a bachelor of science from San Diego State University and earned his master of divinity degree from Liberty University.

Lauren Dewey, Class of 2016

Lauren Dewey, Class of 2016, graduated from Grand Canyon University! She is now teaching English at the middle school. Reflecting on her time as a student, she realls that teachers were her favorite people, and now she can't believe that she calls them her peers. "It does become a little surreal when you come back to work at Oaks and then call your teachers by their first names," she shared.

Sallly Gordin, Class of 2004
Sally Gordin née Roberts, Class of 2004, is our first-ever OCS alumni employee! She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a bachelor of arts, and is now the high school English department chair. She was named the Teacher of the Year in 2022. Thinking back on the early days of Oaks Christian she says: "It was a time that showed me what stepping into faith as a community looked like. The school wasn't anything yet, but everyone had faith in what it could be."
