We have been monitoring the fires throughout the day and continue to hear reports of mandatory evacuations. We know that many people have been displaced and are aware of several members in our community who have lost their homes. Our prayers are with these families and we are here to help should anyone need any assistance whatsoever. Thank you to the many who have already offered their homes and resources to help others in need.

We know that as the winds continue, this situation may intensify throughout the weekend. At this moment Oaks Christian School is safe, but please continue to pray for our campus. Thursday night the fire did come very close to our campus so we want to remain vigilant. Please do not attempt to visit the campus.

In addition to the above, following is important information regarding school events:

All activity scheduled to be held on campus, including, but not limited to the high school fall play, rehearsals, athletic practices and contests are cancelled until Monday, Nov. 12, at which time we will re-evaluate our situation. Again, the Saturday, Nov. 10, 7:00pm high school fall play performance is cancelled, as is the Sunday, Nov. 11, 2:00pm matinee.

The Friday, Nov. 9, CIF football playoff game has been rescheduled to Saturday, Nov. 10 at 7:00pm at JSerra High School. If there is a change, we will let you know. CIF is well aware of our situation and is working to accommodate our challenges.

We are working to reschedule the Veterans Day Assembly that was to be held Friday, Nov. 9.

Unless otherwise notified, we anticipate a normal opening and operation of the school on Monday. In this regard, we are in communication with the school's transportation/bus provider.
