PlaySight's SmartCourt sports technology is coming to the Oaks Christian School's basketball and volleyball programs for its coaches and athletes to use in practices and games this season. The Lions are just the second high school in California to install PlaySight's high performance camera and cloud-based video and analytics platform in its home facility.
"We are very excited to have PlaySight at Oaks Christian. The opportunity it provides for us to film and break down practices will enhance our programs' continued development. Along with the unique ability to live stream our games I believe it will be a great tool for our athletes," said Jordan Wild, Varsity Boys Basketball Coach.
The Oaks Christian basketball players and coaches will now be practicing and playing with the same technology used by the 2015 and 2017 NBA Champion Golden State Warriors and the 2017 NCAA Champion University of North Carolina Tar Heels. The nearby Sports Academy, just up the road in Thousand Oaks, also added PlaySight technology to its facility earlier this year.
Selected in 2017 by Fast Company as one of the "10 Most Innovative Companies in Sport," PlaySight's technology leverages both multiangle video and proprietary analytics to improve on-court performance and connect the next generation of athletes. The company has already achieved a dominant position in the tennis marketplace and is also working with top basketball teams and academies throughout the NBA, college ranks and internationally.
"PlaySight is helping the next generation of athletes to improve faster and connect with a global community of other athletes and coaches, and we couldn't be more excited to be bringing our technology platform to Oaks Christian's prestigious athletics program. The SmartCourt will now also give the school its own inside-out marketing channel with HD live streaming and video recording of all practices and games," said PlaySight CEO Chen Shachar.
"We are powering over 40 NCAA programs, including USC and Stanford, and those schools are using PlaySight to attract top young talent from across the sports world. We hope to have the same impact at Oaks Christian with the Lions athletes, coaches, fans and alumni," he added.
